SaaS Capital’s 2026 research covers more than 1,000 private B2B SaaS companies. The data shows a 22% median growth rate across private B2B SaaS firms. Equity-backed companies show a higher 25% median growth rate. These figures cover companies at many stages, so they should not serve as direct Series A targets. A young company with $1 million ARR faces a very different test from a mature SaaS firm with $20 million ARR.
For a Series A company, investors often look for much faster growth than the broad private SaaS median. Growth near 50% can support a funding case if other metrics look strong. Growth near 75% looks much better. Growth above 100% can create a strong Series A profile, while growth above 150% can place a company in an exceptional group.
ARR Growth Shows Market Demand
ARR, or annual recurring revenue, remains one of the first numbers on an investor’s review sheet. It shows the size of the recurring revenue base and gives context to the rest of the financial picture.

Runway Connects the Round to the Next Milestone
Cash runway tells investors how long the company can operate after the Series A round.
A runway of 24 months or more looks excellent. Eighteen to 24 months looks healthy. Twelve to 18 months can remain manageable, while less than 12 months creates pressure.
