Bengaluru-based deeptech startup Tiea Connectors has raised Rs 77 crore in a Series A funding round led by IvyCap Ventures. The round also saw participation from Jamwant Ventures, 8X Ventures, and several high-net-worth angel investors.
The company plans to use the fresh capital to expand manufacturing infrastructure, strengthen research and development, improve product engineering, and accelerate automation across operations. Tiea also aims to scale its business across sectors such as electric mobility, aerospace, defence, avionics, and emerging technology markets in India and overseas.
Focus on High-Performance Connectivity Solutions
Tiea Connectors operates in the interconnect and contact solutions segment, a highly specialised area within advanced electronics manufacturing. The startup designs and manufactures high-performance connectors, contacts, precision components, and integrated connectivity systems for mission-critical applications.
The company works with technology-focused OEMs as an original design manufacturer and supplies products that support industries requiring reliable and durable connectivity systems.
Its products serve sectors where performance, safety, and reliability remain extremely important. These include electric vehicles, aerospace systems, defence electronics, industrial automation, and avionics equipment.
Expansion Plans After Fresh Funding
Tiea says the funding will help the company scale production capacity and improve technology integration across operations. The startup also plans to strengthen automation capabilities and expand its product portfolio.
As demand rises for electrification and intelligent systems, companies across industries now require advanced interconnection technologies capable of handling complex and high-reliability environments. Tiea wants to position itself as a global supplier in this fast-growing market.
The company also plans to increase its international market presence as global manufacturers search for alternatives to traditional supply chains.
Strong Demand From EV and Defence Sectors
The startup operates in sectors that have seen rapid growth over the last few years. Electric mobility continues to expand worldwide as governments and consumers move toward cleaner transportation systems.
Modern electric vehicles depend heavily on high-performance connectors and precision electronic systems. Aerospace and defence industries also require highly reliable interconnect solutions that can perform under extreme operating conditions.
Tiea believes growing global focus on intelligent mobility, aerospace-grade reliability, and supply chain diversification will continue to create strong demand for advanced connectivity systems.
Company Leadership Speaks
Tiea Connectors co-founder Ajith Sasidharan described the investment as an important milestone in the company鈥檚 growth journey. He said the partnership with IvyCap Ventures aligns with the startup鈥檚 long-term vision to build globally competitive interconnection technologies from India.
According to him, the funding will help the company improve engineering and innovation capabilities while supporting the development of next-generation interconnection technologies.
He also said industries around the world continue to shift toward electrification, intelligent systems, and high-reliability applications, creating major opportunities for the company.
IvyCap Ventures Sees Strong Potential
IvyCap Ventures said Tiea has already built strong engineering and manufacturing capabilities in a specialised segment of the electronics ecosystem.
Founder and Managing Partner Vikram Gupta stated that the company鈥檚 focus on innovation, precision engineering, scalable manufacturing, and customised products gives it a strong position in rapidly evolving sectors such as defence, aerospace, and electric mobility.
The investment firm believes India鈥檚 deeptech manufacturing ecosystem has significant long-term growth potential, especially in strategic sectors where domestic production becomes increasingly important.
Engineering and Manufacturing Strength
Tiea鈥檚 core strength lies in engineering, rapid prototyping, tooling development, material engineering, miniaturisation, and precision manufacturing. The startup develops customised application-specific interconnect systems for different industries.
The company also operates a manufacturing facility in Dharwad, Karnataka, with in-house capabilities across tooling, stamping, moulding, assembly, and testing.
This in-house setup allows the startup to maintain tighter control over quality, production timelines, and product development.
India鈥檚 Deeptech Manufacturing Sector Expands
Tiea鈥檚 latest funding round reflects growing investor interest in India鈥檚 deeptech and advanced manufacturing ecosystem. Investors increasingly back startups that build hardware, industrial technology, defence systems, semiconductor solutions, and precision engineering products.
India鈥檚 push for domestic manufacturing and reduced dependence on imports has also created opportunities for companies developing specialised industrial technologies.
Several sectors, including aerospace, defence electronics, EV infrastructure, and industrial automation, still depend heavily on imported high-precision components. Startups like Tiea aim to close that gap through local innovation and scalable manufacturing.
What Comes Next
With fresh funding now secured, Tiea Connectors plans to focus on scaling production, expanding research capabilities, and increasing automation across operations.
The company also wants to strengthen its presence in international markets while supporting fast-growing industries that require advanced connectivity systems.
As global industries continue moving toward electrification, intelligent mobility, and more connected technologies, demand for high-performance interconnect solutions is expected to rise steadily.
Tiea now aims to use this momentum to establish itself as a globally competitive technology-driven manufacturing company from India.
