Indian startup Venttup has raised $3 million in a Pre-Series A funding round led by Rainmatter, the investment arm of Zerodha, and Unicorn India Ventures. The latest investment marks an important step in the company’s growth plans as it seeks to expand its work in precision manufacturing and industrial technology.

The company plans to use the fresh capital to grow its engineering team, set up a new precision manufacturing facility in Bengaluru and invest in rapid prototyping. It will also use artificial intelligence (AI) and other technology to improve business-to-business (B2B) sourcing, supplier intelligence and daily operations.

Venttup aims to help Indian businesses develop high-quality components and move from early product designs to large-scale production. Its work covers several important sectors, such as energy transition, defence, aerospace and space technology.

The latest round also shows the rising interest of investors in India’s deep-tech and industrial sectors. As more startups develop hardware products and advanced technology, the need for trusted manufacturing partners has become more important.

What Does Venttup Do?

Venttup is an engineering and precision manufacturing startup that helps businesses develop and produce industrial components. The company follows a Manufacturing as a Service (MaaS) model. In simple words, it helps other companies make the parts they need without the need to set up their own factories or build every production facility from scratch.

A business may have a product idea, a technical design or a need for a special component. However, it may not have the right machines, skilled workers or factory setup to make that part at the required level of quality. This is where Venttup steps in.

The startup works with a network of trusted micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across India. It also has its own engineering skills and plans to expand its in-house production setup. This mix helps the company connect customer needs with suitable manufacturing partners.

Venttup can support a project from its early design stage to the final production stage. Its services include engineering design, design standardisation, rapid prototyping, product tests, quality checks and contract manufacturing.

For example, a hardware startup may need a special metal part for a new machine. It may have a design but lack the tools or factory support to produce that part in large numbers. Venttup can help improve the design, find a suitable production partner, create a sample and check whether the final part meets the required standards.

This approach can save time and reduce the need for a business to set up its own production unit. It also gives smaller manufacturers a chance to work with larger companies and take up more complex projects.

Why Did Venttup Raise $3 Million?

The fresh capital will support three major areas of growth for the company: its engineering team, its factory setup and its use of technology.

First, Venttup plans to add more skilled people to its engineering team. Strong engineering support is vital in precision manufacturing because even a small error in a component can affect the safety, quality or performance of a final product.

Second, the company plans to set up a precision manufacturing facility in Bengaluru. The new unit will support precision machining, turning and sheet metal production. It will also help the company improve its rapid prototyping capabilities.

Third, Venttup will invest in AI tools and other technology to improve B2B sourcing and supplier intelligence. These tools can help the company find suitable suppliers, review their capabilities and make better decisions about which partner should handle a particular order.

The company also wants to improve its day-to-day work through better use of technology. A more organised supplier network and better access to supplier data can help reduce delays and improve the quality of services.

The funds will help Venttup serve both established original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and new deep-tech startups. OEMs are companies that make finished products or machines and need reliable suppliers for the parts used in those products.

New Precision Manufacturing Facility in Bengaluru

One of the key parts of Venttup’s expansion plan is its new facility in Bengaluru. The unit will focus on precision machining, turning and sheet metal production.

Precision manufacturing refers to the production of parts that must meet exact size, shape and quality requirements. Such parts are common in sectors where product safety and performance are very important.

For example, a part used in an aircraft, defence system or industrial machine must meet strict technical standards. Even a small difference in its size or shape may affect how the final product works.

The planned Bengaluru facility will help Venttup take up more complex projects and offer better support to its customers. It will also help the company move projects from the sample and test stage to full production.

Rapid prototyping is another important part of this plan. It allows a company to create an early version of a product or component before it starts full-scale production. The sample can then go through tests, and any problems can be fixed before the company spends more money on large orders.

This process can help customers save both time and cost. It can also reduce the risk of errors at a later stage.

The new facility will serve sectors such as energy transition, defence, aerospace and space technology. These areas often need special parts that meet strict quality and performance standards.

Focus on India’s MSME Network

Venttup’s business model also places strong focus on India’s MSME sector. Small and medium manufacturers form a major part of the country’s industrial base. Many of these businesses have machines, skilled workers and the ability to make quality products.

However, they may not always have access to large customers or complex industrial projects. Some also lack the systems and technical support that large buyers expect from their suppliers.

Venttup aims to help close this gap. It connects customer requirements with suitable MSME partners and offers support across design, tests, quality checks and production.

Rather than build every part of its production network on its own, the company can work with local manufacturers that already have the required skills and equipment. This model gives Venttup more flexibility and helps it serve a wider range of customer needs.

It can also create new business opportunities for local manufacturers. When a small factory gets access to a large industrial customer, it may receive more orders and improve its own technical skills.

For India, this model may also support a stronger local supply chain. Businesses can find more parts and production support within the country instead of depend only on overseas suppliers.

Revenue Grew Fivefold Since 2024

Venttup has also reported strong business growth since its seed funding round in 2024. The company said its revenue grew fivefold to ₹10 crore in FY2025-26.

It also reported an order pipeline of around ₹30 crore across the energy transition, mobility and smart infrastructure sectors. An order pipeline refers to the value of business opportunities that a company may secure in the future. It does not mean that the full amount has already been earned as revenue.

Over the past 12 months, Venttup has added more than 15 large companies to its customer base. This growth suggests that more businesses are seeking support for precision components and local production.

The company now plans to build on this progress through a stronger engineering team, a new factory and better technology. Its aim is to take on larger projects and serve customers with more complex production needs.

The fivefold rise in revenue also gives investors a clearer picture of the company’s progress since its earlier funding round. However, its future growth will depend on how well it can turn its business pipeline into actual orders and deliver those projects on time.

Four Key Business Areas

Venttup plans to grow its business across four main areas. These include energy transition and data centres, aerospace, defence and space systems, smart infrastructure and future mobility, and electronics, automation and smart manufacturing.

The energy transition sector has a growing need for parts and equipment that support clean energy systems. Data centres also need reliable electrical and industrial components to support their daily operations. Venttup aims to serve businesses in these areas through its engineering and production services.

In aerospace, defence and space, the need for precision parts is even more important. These industries depend on components that meet strict quality rules. A reliable local supplier can help companies reduce delays and improve control over their supply chains.

The startup also plans to serve smart infrastructure and future mobility companies. These sectors need better machines, electronic parts and other advanced products. Venttup wants to become a trusted partner for businesses that need support from the design stage to final production.

What Did the Investors Say?

Rainmatter and Unicorn India Ventures have backed Venttup because they see a clear need for better manufacturing support in India.

Abhinav Singh Negi, Lead for Climate and Deeptech at Rainmatter by Zerodha, said the firm had noticed a common problem among its portfolio companies. Hardware startups often find it hard to locate reliable manufacturing partners who can take a product from the test stage to full production.

He also noted that the push for local production across key industries has created fresh demand for industrial services. Venttup’s model, which combines its own precision manufacturing setup with a network of trusted MSMEs, can help address this need.

Unicorn India Ventures has backed Venttup since its seed round in 2024. Bhaskar Majumdar, Managing Partner at the firm, said the company had shown strong growth, which led the firm to co-lead its latest funding round with Rainmatter.

He also noted that precision manufacturing could see strong demand as India’s deep-tech sector grows. Companies in defence and space, in particular, need partners who can help them source special equipment, create prototypes and build reliable supply chains.

The support from both investors gives Venttup access to fresh capital and partners who understand the needs of India’s industrial and deep-tech sectors.

Venttup’s Founders and Early Journey

Venttup was founded by Sandeep Nair, M. Wasim Ankli and Joseph Panakkal. The founders have work experience at well-known companies such as Hitachi Energy, Siemens, L&T and Kalpataru Power.

Their experience in the industrial sector gives the company a base to understand the needs of large businesses and new technology firms.

Venttup was also incubated at Kerala Startup Mission. The support from this startup ecosystem helped the company build its early base and develop its business model.

The latest $3 million round is a major step in its journey. The company now has plans to build more in-house production capacity while also make better use of India’s existing MSME network.

What Lies Ahead for Venttup?

Venttup’s next phase will depend on how well it can use the fresh funds to improve its services and take up larger projects. Its Bengaluru facility, new engineering hires and AI tools will play an important role in this plan.

The company also faces the task of meet the strict quality needs of sectors such as defence, aerospace and space. These industries require high levels of accuracy, clear quality checks and reliable delivery. A strong supplier network will be vital to meet these needs.

At the same time, the company must turn its ₹30 crore business opportunity pipeline into actual orders and revenue. Its reported revenue of ₹10 crore in FY2025-26 gives it a base for its next phase of growth.

If Venttup can deliver on its plans, it may become an important partner for businesses that need local production support. Its work could also create more opportunities for Indian MSMEs and reduce the need for overseas suppliers for certain industrial parts.

A Step Forward for India’s Manufacturing Sector

Venttup’s $3 million Pre-Series A round is not just about the growth of one startup. It also points to a wider need in India’s industrial sector.

Many Indian businesses have strong product ideas and technical skills, but they need reliable partners to turn those ideas into products that can reach the market. The gap between a successful prototype and large-scale production remains a major challenge for many hardware and deep-tech companies.

Venttup aims to address this problem through its mix of engineering services, precision manufacturing and MSME partnerships.

With Rainmatter and Unicorn India Ventures as its lead investors, the company now has fresh capital to expand its team, set up its Bengaluru facility and adopt better technology.

Its success will depend on the quality of its work, its ability to serve more customers and its capacity to build a reliable supplier network. Still, the latest investment marks a positive step for Venttup as it seeks a larger role in India’s precision manufacturing sector.
