Bollywood powerhouse Ranveer Singh has taken a leap into the world of sexual health and wellness by investing in Bold Care, a startup focused on transforming conversations around these topics. The announcement, made on December 1, not only highlights Singh’s entrepreneurial ventures but also sheds light on the importance of destigmatizing discussions related to sexual health.

Bold Care, a Bengaluru-based startup, confirmed Singh’s investment, revealing that he has assumed the role of co-owner. While specific details about the investment amount and the percentage of stake acquired by the actor remain undisclosed, the company emphasized that Singh’s involvement has propelled a traditionally unconventional brand category into the mainstream spotlight.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the partnership, Ranveer Singh stated, “I am pleased to come on board as the face and co-owner of Bold Care. We are committed towards normalizing conversations about sexual health and wellness, a topic that traditionally comes with stigma and taboo. People, especially men, are misinformed and shy to seek help.”

This marks Ranveer Singh’s second foray into the startup investment landscape, following his initial investment in the direct-to-consumer (D2C) brand SUGAR Cosmetics. Notably, his wife and fellow actor, Deepika Padukone, is a notable investor with stakes in diverse startups, including furniture rental platform Furlenco, yogurt firm Epigamia, electric taxi startup Blu Smart, and Bellatrix Aerospace.

The Bollywood star expressed his belief that the sexual health and wellness category necessitated greater openness and acceptance within Indian society. He recalled his previous endorsement of a condom brand early in his career, emphasizing that the current investment represents a more significant commitment to challenging societal norms.

“I always felt that sexual health and wellness category needed more openness and acceptance in the Indian society. This needs to be done,” Singh asserted, underscoring the urgency of fostering informed conversations around sexual well-being in a country known for its active societal engagement.

Bold Care, launched in 2021, has swiftly carved a niche for itself in the sexual health and wellness sector. With an annual recurring revenue of Rs 40 crore, the startup has made significant strides, selling over 3 lakh units of condoms within the first 10 months of its launch. Impressively, the company has processed more than 15 lakh orders, showcasing a robust market presence and consumer trust.

Rajat Jadhav, the CEO of Bold Care, expressed his excitement about Singh’s involvement in the venture, stating, “We have announced Ranveer (Singh) as the co-owner at Bold Care. His involvement over the past year has been nothing short of incredible, deeply engaging in every facet of our business. This is going to be an iconic partnership.”

Bold Care’s mission goes beyond commercial success; it aims to normalize conversations around men’s health, with a specific focus on sexual health. Singh’s alignment with this vision from the inception of the partnership underscores the potential impact of this collaboration in reshaping societal perceptions and fostering a more open and informed dialogue around crucial health topics.

As Ranveer Singh takes on the role of co-owner at Bold Care, this partnership not only elevates the startup’s profile but also sends a powerful message about the importance of breaking taboos and addressing health issues with transparency and education. The journey ahead promises to be transformative, with Bollywood’s charismatic star contributing to the narrative shift in a domain often clouded by societal reticence.
