Zappfresh, the online meat delivery startup, has successfully secured a significant infusion of Rs 30 crores (approximately $4.3 million) in its latest funding round. A consortium of investors, featuring notable names like Ah! Ventures, HT Media, Unity SFB, and Heifer Impact, participated in this funding initiative. The fresh capital injection is poised to play a pivotal role in Zappfresh’s strategic initiatives, focusing on acquisitions, expansions, and substantial infrastructure upgrades. The company has its sights set on strengthening its presence in both the North and South markets.
According to Zappfresh, the funds will also be instrumental in launching new product lines, including a diverse array of offerings such as poultry, goat meat, seafood, and ready-to-eat items. This move aligns with the company’s vision to diversify its product portfolio and cater to the evolving preferences of its customer base.
Founder of Zappfresh, Deepanshu Manchanda, expressed enthusiasm about the investment, emphasizing its potential impact on expanding the company’s reach and enhancing its product offerings. He stated, “We are excited about the opportunities this partnership will unlock, allowing us to serve our customers better and redefine the meat delivery landscape in India.”

Pranjit Talukdar, representing Heifer Impact, emphasized the broader impact of the partnership on livelihoods, particularly for smallholder women backyard poultry producers in the country. He stated, “Our partnership with Zappfresh is set to improve the livelihoods of many smallholder women backyard poultry producers in the country, helping them expand their market reach and generate substantial income.”
Zappfresh’s strategic approach involves not only expanding its market presence but also diversifying its product range. This includes venturing into poultry, goat meat, seafood, and ready-to-eat products. Such diversification aims to position Zappfresh as a comprehensive solution in the meat delivery space, catering to a broad spectrum of consumer preferences.

Zappfresh faces competition from various players in the segment, including Licious, Fresh To Home, TenderCuts, Meatigo, and others. Additionally, the entry of grocery verticals into the fresh produce and meat delivery space, such as Blinkit, Zepto, Amazon Fresh, adds to the competitive dynamics of the market.
