Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) and Business Finland have inked a strategic memorandum of understanding to fortify the startup ecosystems in both India and Finland. The collaboration, sealed at the ‘Slush 2023’ event in Helsinki, aims to foster innovation, create collaborative opportunities, and enhance growth prospects across diverse sectors.
Business Finland, operating under the Ministry of Employment and the Economy in Finland, has a six-year track record of attracting trade, tourism, foreign investment, and supporting innovation. The newly formed partnership will facilitate regular contact for the exchange of vital information and knowledge related to startup ecosystems in both countries.
At the heart of this collaboration is the Kerala Finland Innovation Corridor, a platform established to bridge the initiatives of both organizations. Beyond startup acceleration, the corridor will facilitate research cooperation, joint events, and communication and marketing efforts.
A KSUM delegation attended the Slush 2023 event, showcasing the innovation potential of Kerala’s startups and exploring collaborative initiatives with a direct impact on skilling, research, investment, and business development. The strategic alliance is expected to unlock new avenues for startups, providing them with global exposure and fostering international collaborations.
Webinars, seminars, and conferences are on the agenda as part of the collaboration, promoting events that facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration. The Kerala Finland Innovation Corridor marks a significant step toward creating a vibrant ecosystem that transcends geographical boundaries and propels startups toward global success.
